A dedicated CCTV tag?
Per the deletion discussion of the {{PD-automated}} tag, the PD-automated tag should be specific to CCTV and other static camera footage similar to the Commons:Template:PD-automated tag. I think having a separate tag is better, since AI-generated images with CCTV footage are fundamentally different (and are referred to by different legal decisions in the United States). There is more info about relevant case law in Threshold of originality § Pre-positioned recording devices, as well as internationally at Commons:Category:Security_camera_footage_by_country. The amount of files using the {{PD-automated}} redirect is small enough that this can be done. Since it's a different legal space, a separate tag can also be useful if the rules regarding CCTV footage abruptly change. --Gert7 (talk · contribs) 18:23, 22 June 2026 (UTC)
