Designation as editing guideline
I should propose designation as a editing guideline for navigation templates. Editors should generally follow it, though exceptions may apply. Substantive edits to this page should reflect consensus.
Currently, this page is under an explanatory essay. One issue for navigation templates (except sidebars) are merely decorative (like images for example). Following both discussions at Template talk:Navbox#Rfc: Deprecation of the image and imageleft parameters and Wikipedia talk:Manual of Style/Archive 225#MOS:DECOR and navboxes. Arbitrary
I've started a discussion about an arbitrary number of entries here and believe that this should be prohibited just like "Navigation templates are not arbitrarily decorative". How should the paragraph be written or should one sentence suffice? Logoshimpo (talk) 05:10, 4 March 2026 (UTC)
