Sprite comic
Have improved some things on this page, but the section Sprite comic#Legal situation seems to include original analysis. I would appreciate extra eyes on this/sourcing if anyone else is more familiar with this topic. Thanks! TariffedSparrow (talk) 05:21, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- @TariffedSparrow: Thanks for looking it over! It was a challenging article to write due to there being relatively few sources describing the subject directly. Still, I hope I can asses the three points you've tagged: ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 07:54, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
- "Sprite comics are generally looked down upon" would, according to Sjöberg, be by "comic fans". However, I do not like putting a vague, overly large grouping in the lead. I don't think it would add anything to include the phrase "comic fans" in the lead.
- "not seen mainstream attention since 8-bit Theater", this is directly stated in the end of the History section. I am not sure what the issue is here.
- "would lose a lawsuit if a game developer decided to sue" – I will have to open up my copy of Webcomics tonight or tomorrow to track down the exact phrasing used in the book. Are you concerned at the certainty at which the article suggests no sprite comic has ever been DMCA'd? ~Maplestrip/Mable (chat) 07:54, 30 March 2026 (UTC)
