Draft:Ski route
This article was moved to the draft namespace a while ago because it was underdeveloped. However, User:Bermicourt improved it, so I just have one question: Is this article worthy enough to be moved to the main article namespace? Thanks, TWOrantulaTM (enter the web) 17:34, 18 February 2024 (UTC)
E. John B. Allen
Probably needs a BLP. He is cited in at least 13 wikipedia articles. This is not my wheelhouse, so I'm posting it here.
E. John B. Allen (born 1933) is an American historian (originally from England) who spent his career at Plymouth State College in New Hampshire, where he became professor emeritus of history. His specialty is the history of skiing, both as a sport and as a cultural phenomenon. He’s widely respected in ski history research, winter sports scholarship, and the International Ski History Association. He has also contributed to Encyclopaedia Britannica as their skiing expert.
Allen has written many of the foundational English‑language books on ski history, including:
- Historical Dictionary of Skiing (2012)
- From Skisport to Skiing: One Hundred Years of an American Sport (1993)
- Teaching and Technique: A History of Professional Ski Instruction (1987)
- New England Skiing 1870–1940 (1997)
- Traveling the Old Ski Tracks of New England (2022)
He's also edited conference papers and contributed articles to ski history journals.
