Suggestions
Please list your suggestions below. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:07, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
- Should we mention or add 2026 Turkey tornado outbreak and List of Turkey tornadoes in the next new letter? ⚡ StormL00ver ⚡ 16:08, 26 September 2026 (UTC)
- @StormL00ver: sorry for not replying, and you probably saw, but List of Turkey tornadoes was included in the newsletter. I typically don't include any events from this year (or mentioned in Weather of 2026), since they usually get a lot of attention by being new articles. But check out the discussion below about including "New 2026 articles". ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:01, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
Complaint department
We welcome any and all complaints and will try addressing them. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:07, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
@Hurricanehink I can't seem to edit the article/newletter and I don't know why. StormL00ver (talk) 14:00, 17 October 2026 (UTC)
- @StormL00ver: are you editing the current issue? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 16:57, 17 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oh sorry my bad. ⚡ StormL00ver ⚡ 17:05, 17 October 2026 (UTC)
Discussion
Welcome to anyone who would like to help with the newsletter. This is for general Newsletter discussion not covered by any other topics. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 18:07, 30 July 2026 (UTC)
@StormL00ver: I wanted to invite you to the talk page of the newsletter, instead of discussing your involvement on your talk page. If you have any suggestions, or topic ideas, feel free to add them either here, or in the current newsletter's talk page. And if you want to be bold and write up something, that will be even more helpful, since half the time, we're just trying to come up with interesting things to write about for our loyal audience. (remember to like and subscribe). ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:01, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
Quote
The quote looks funky when viewed in dark mode. the entire newsletter is whitish-green, while the quote is pitch black. Also, I think that there is no guarantee that there will be a GA article that was reviewed in that month. WXchaser (Say what?) 00:00, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- I’ll be sure to use the quote box in the future. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 02:36, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- What do you mean by that? WXchaser (Say what?) 15:47, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- You said the quote looks funky. It’s probably because it’s not the proper way to quote, I should’ve used the quote box. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 16:06, 4 October 2026 (UTC)

@WXchaser: I changed the template. Does it look better now? ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:06, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- Yes. Great! thanks for taking time to solve problems.
WXchaser (Say what?) 20:14, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- @WXchaser: pretty sure you meant "solve", not "sole problems", so I changed your comment, hope you don't mind. Cheers! ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:29, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
Humo(u)r
After randomly deciding to add the typewriter incident from Agnes, I want that to be a regular feature. 12george1 found this Miami News article about Hurricane Fifi. It mentions an airplane dropping tea and toilet paper, but since the locals weren't familiar with them, they smoked the tea. I'll likely add it to the next newsletter. I wanted this to be a regular section, in case anyone comes across funny things in their research that's not appropriate/relevant to the article. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:01, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- I'll be on the lookout! Lightbulb Noob (talk) 23:30, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
In the news?
In the last newsletter, Lightbulb Noob suggested having an "In the news" section. We could include it in the section that has FA's/GA's/selected new articles, and have a subset "New 2026 articles". The reason I didn't include it was because there could be a lot of articles from this year. Not all of them are going to be in the best shape, or they might be better suited as part of another article (see the merge-a-thon series). I just wanted to make sure the selected new articles highlighted some of the other articles of the Weather WikiProject, since those won't get as much attention as the newer ones. But that's why I wanted to open up the discussion. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 20:01, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- That's actually a really good point, maybe we could only have a couple articles for the "In the news" section so we don't take away from other ones, or I suppose we don't really need it. Lightbulb Noob (talk) 23:29, 4 October 2026 (UTC)
- I do think there's a need for it, actually. I added the recently published List of Asian tornadoes in 2026. Nolo might be interesting to add due to its AFD, for example. ♫ Hurricanehink (talk) 00:38, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Oops, I probably should have clarified: what I originally meant was actual current newsworthy weather events, not necessarily Wikipedia-related things, but it being Wikipedia orientated might honestly be better. Lightbulb Noob (talk) 00:49, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- Yea, as long as there’s something Wikipedia related. Sometimes, there are some noteworthy changes that happen as a result of new events, like the recent Turkish tornadoes leading to the Asian tornado list being split from Europe. Hurricanehink mobile (talk) 03:47, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
- True. Lightbulb Noob (talk) 11:48, 5 October 2026 (UTC)
