Ferdinand Diedrich Lessing, né le à Altenessen (quartier de Essen) en Allemagne, et mort le à Berkeley en Californie, aux États-Unis, est un sinologue et mongoliste allemand, naturalisé américain. C'est également un spécialiste du lamaïsme.
