Sotatercept

Le sotatercept est un médicament utilisé dans l'hypertension artérielle pulmonaire.
Il s'agit d'une protéine de fusion dont l'une des parties se fixe sur le récepteur de l'activine de type 2, inhibant sa voie, et l'autre étant une immunoglobuline. Il permet de moduler le signal du TGF-β qui intervient fans la genèse de l'hypertension artérielle pulmonaire[1].
Efficacité
Il est donné en association avec le traitement classique de l'hypertension artérielle pulmonaire.
Il permet de réduire les résistances vasculaires pulmonaires[2], améliore la fonction ventriculaire droite[3] ainsi que d'autres paramètres hémodynamiques et biologiques[4]. Il augmente la capacité à la marche[5]. Il diminue la mortalité de la maladie ainsi que le risque d'hospitalisation[6].
Donné en plus du traitement habituel dans la première année après la découverte de la maladie, il permet de freiner l'évolution de la maladie[7].
