La Chinese Football Team est créée en 1904 par un groupe d'étudiants chinois de Hong Kong[2],[3] dont Mok Hing[4] et Tong Fuk Cheung, le capitaine de l'équipe de Chine de football dans les années 1910[5]
En 1910, le club est rebaptisé South China Football Club[2],[3],[4].
