ブルンジの政党では、ブルンジにおける政党について説明する。

ブルンジの政党制

ブルンジは、1966年に王令で国民進歩同盟（国民進歩連合、Union pour le Progrès national、UPRONA）が唯一党に定められて以来1992年に多党化が認められるまで唯一の合法政党とされていた。1993年に多党制となって初の国政選挙が行われ、複数政党制に移行した[1]。フツとツチのエスニシティを背景にしていると看做される、2ないし3の政党が有力であるものの、ブルンジにおいてはツチ或はフツのエスニシティを掲げることは非合法であり、各党にそれぞれの出身者が属した[1]。1993年の選挙ではFRODEBUが勝利したが、10月のンダダエ大統領暗殺とその後の政治危機、1996年7月のピエール・ブヨヤのクーデタを経て、民兵組織を含め多数の組織が乱立した。2003年の和平合意を経て2005年の総選挙では元反政府勢力であったCNDD-FDDが勝利し、国会により党首のンクルンジザが大統領に選ばれた。

  • 民主防衛国民会議 (Conseil National Pour la Défense de la Démocratie、CNDD、National Council for the Defense of Democracy) – フツ系政党。フツ系としては最小政党。党首はレオナール・ニャンゴマ。
  • 民主防衛国民会議・民主防衛勢力 (Conseil National Pour la Défense de la Démocratie–Forces pour la Défense de la Démocratie、CNDD-FDD、National Council for the Defense of Democracy-Forces for the Defense of Democracy) – フツ系最大政党。党首はピエール・ンクルンジザ。
  • ブルンジ民主戦線 (Front pour la Démocratie au Burundi、FRODEBU、Front for Democracy in Burundi) – フツ系主要政党。1993年総選挙（Burundi legislative election, 1993）に勝利した。総裁はジャン・ミナニ。
  • 市民回復運動・ルレンザンゲメロ (Mouvement pour la Réhabilitation du Citoyen-Rurenzangemero、MRC-Rurenzangemero、Movement for the Rehabilitation of Citizens-Rurenzangemero) – 「ツチ系」主要政党。党首は、エピタンス・バヤガナカンディ。
  • 民族再生党 (Parti pour le redressement national、PARENA、Party for National Recovery) – 「ツチ系」主要政党。党首はジャン＝バティスト・バガザ元大統領。
  • 民族進歩連合 (国民進歩連合、Union pour le Progrès national、UPRONA、Union for National Progress) – 「ツチ系」主要政党であり、1992年までは法的に認められた唯一の政党であった。党首はジャン＝バティスト・マンワンガリ。
