Kirsten Wolf

Kirsten Wolf studierte von 1978 bis 1981 Isländische und Norwegische Sprache an der Universität Islands und erwarb dort den Bachelorgrad. Von 1981 bis 1987 setzte sie ihr Studium skandinavischer Sprachen am University College London fort. Nach der Magisterprüfung (1982) promovierte sie dort 1987 zum Ph.D. Von 1986 bis 1988 war sie als Dozentin an der University of Wisconsin-Madison tätig, außerdem an der Universität Kopenhagen. Von 1988 bis 2001 lehrte sie als Professorin an der University of Manitoba Isländische Sprache und Literatur. Seit 2001 ist sie Professorin an der University of Wisconsin-Madison. Schwerpunkte ihrer Arbeit sind neben der altnordischen bzw. isländischen Literatur u. a. Paläographie, Hagiographie und Farbstudien. Hierzu legte sie zahlreiche Veröffentlichungen und Editionen vor.
