Sturgis ist bekannt für die jährliche Sturgis Motorcycle Rally, die mit etwa einer halben Million Besuchern eine der größten Motorradveranstaltungen der Welt ist.[3] Benannt wurde die Stadt nach General Samuel D. Sturgis.
