The 12th Army Corps was initially disclosed by Mariana Bezuhla in November 2024, although it gained more widespread attention later.[3] This development aligns with broader military reforms within Ukraine, which include transitioning to a corps management structure, a concept that was expected to be detailed by the end of November 2024.[2]
In June 2025, it was reported that the 12th Army Corps was responsible for the defense of Kyiv.[4]
