The game received "mixed or average reviews", according to review aggregator Metacritic, with a critics score of 50 based on 17 reviews.[7] Critics praised the gameâs visuals, acting, and combat, while also criticising its performance on PC and overall polish at launch.[8][9]
Before launch, the game was heavily attacked by far-right influencers[10] over a perceived lesbian romance that was not present in the final game,[11] with reports noting that much of the criticism came from sources that had not played the game.[12]
On release, this led to coordinated "anti-woke" review bombing[13] and further attacks, including false claims of government funding[10] and death threats directed at the developers.[14]
