A gubernatorial election was held in Virginia on December 8, 1824. The incumbent governor of Virginia James Pleasants was re-elected without opposition.[1]

The election was conducted by the Virginia General Assembly in joint session.[3] Pleasants was elected with a majority on the first ballot.[1]
