The 1929 VPI Gobblers football team represented Virginia Polytechnic Institute in the 1929 college football season. The team was led by their head coach Andy Gustafson and finished with a record of five wins and four losses (5â4).

After the season
On January 31, 1930, Gustafson resigned as the head coach to become the head backfield coach at the University of Pittsburgh, his alma mater.[20]
