- 5 January â Third Jewish Assembly of Representatives election.
- March â The Press Bureau is reconstituted under a junior assistant secretary to improve the governmentâs communication with press and ensure better scrutiny of newspapers.[1]
- 10 April â The Irgun is founded by Avraham Tehomi and former Haganah commanders who rejected the policy of "havlagah" and sought more action against Arab violence.
- 11 April â Three members of kibbutz Yagur are killed by members of a local Arab gang.
- 19 May â An Order in Council is issued by King George V relating to the Western Wall. This legally enshrined the Wall's status: Muslim ownership is affirmed, but Jews are guaranteed free access for prayer under specific conditions.[2]
- 18 November â The 1931 census of Palestine is carried out by the Mandate authorities under the direction of Major E. Mills.
- 20 November â Sir Arthur Grenfell Wauchope replaces Sir John Chancellor as High Commissioner of Palestine.[3]
- 22 December â Two members of Nahala Moshav, a man and his son, are killed when a bomb is thrown into their home. The attack is attributed to members of the Black Hand Gang.
