1933 Salford City Council election

Local election in Salford From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Elections to Salford City Council were held on Wednesday, 1 November 1933. One-third of the councillors seats were up for election, with each successful candidate to serve a three-year term of office. The Conservative Party lost overall control of the council.[1][2]

Caused by the resignation on 16 February 1934 of Alderman George Barker (Liberal, elected as an alderman by the council on 6 June 1917).[3][4]

In his place, Councillor James Frederick Emery (Conservative, Weaste, elected 1 November 1921)[5] was elected as an alderman by the council on 4 April 1934.[6]
