In its second season under head coach Harry Lawrence, the team compiled a 1–8 record.[1] John G. Geosits was the team captain.[2]

Bucknell was ranked at No. 249 in the final Litkenhous Difference by Score System ratings for 1948.[3]

The team played its home games at Memorial Stadium on the university campus in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania.
