The 1965–66 New York Rangers season was the franchise's 40th season. The Rangers posted an 18–41–11 record in the regular season, finished in last place in the NHL and did not make the playoffs for the fourth year in a row for the first time since the 1951–52 to 1954–55 seasons.[1][2]
