The 1991 FAI Cup final was the final match of the 1990–91 FAI Cup, a knock-out association football competition contested annually by clubs affiliated with the Football Association of Ireland. It took place on Sunday 12 May 1991 at Lansdowne Road in Dublin, and was contested by Galway United and Shamrock Rovers. Galway won the match 1–0 to win the cup for the first time, winning what is still their only major trophy.[1][2]

The two sides' contested the same match in the 1985 FAI Cup final six years earlier in Dalymount Park, that game saw Rovers emerge as 1–0 winners.[3] The two teams faced each other three times in the League that season, with Rovers winning all three encounters.
