The Liberal Democrats lost control of the council to no overall control, with gains being made by both Labour and the Conservatives.[1][2] The Conservatives made a comeback in the popular vote, recovering most of their position lost over the previous few electoral cycles. This was mostly at the expense of the Liberal Democrats.
