1998 Grinnell Pioneers football team

The 1998 Grinnell Pioneers football team represented Grinnell College of Grinnell, Iowa, as a member of the Midwest Conference (MWC) during the 1998 NCAA Division III football season. In their 11th year under head coach Greg Wallace, the Pioneers compiled a perfect 10–0 record (9–0 against conference opponents) and won the MWC championship.[1][2] It was Grinnell's first perfect season since 1917.[3]

Quarterback Troy Dougherty completed 208 of 351 passes for 2,790 yards and 32 touchdowns, tied an NCAA record with eight touchdown passes in a game, and was named Midwest Conference offensive player of the year.[4]
