2019 Dover District Council election

The 2019 Dover District Council election took place on 2 May 2019 to elect members of the Dover District Council in Kent, England. It was held on the same day as other local elections. It was the first election to be held after boundary changes reduced the number of seats from 45 to 32.[2] The Conservative Party retained overall control of the council.[3]

Changes 2019–2023
- In October 2019, Conservative council leader Keith Morris resigned as leader and as councillor for Guston, Kingsdown and St Margaret's-at-Cliffe.[5] Trevor Bartlett was elected leader on 30 October 2019.[6]
- In January 2023, Labour councillor John Haste (St Radigund's) died; his seat remained vacant until the 2023 election.[7]

The Guston, Kingsdown and St Margaret's-at-Cliffe by-election was triggered by the resignation of Conservative councillor Keith Morris, who also stood down as leader of the council.[5]
