2026 Real Madrid CF presidential election

The 2026 presidential elections of Real Madrid Club de Fútbol shall be held on 7 June 2026.[1] On 12 May 2026, after the board of directors meeting, the current president Florentino Pérez appeared to call for new board of directors elections. The club's football team emerged empty-handed from the cups this season.[2] These are considered the first contested elections since 2006, and the third in the 21st century.[3] On 21 May 2026, businessman Enrique Riquelme announced his candidacy.[3] The winner of the presidency of the club will be elected to fill a four-year term. Pérez launched his election campaign officially on 27 May.[4]

In 24 May, the candidacy of Riquelme was accepted.[5] Riquelme stated his determination to revive the team’s Spanish identity through a strategic mission to boost Real Madrid's representation in the national team, re-establishing the club as a key feeder for La Roja.[6]

Voting is scheduled to be conducted from 9:00 AM to 8:00 PM within the Real Madrid City Basketball Pavilion.[1]
