2026 South Korean local elections

The 9th local elections were held in South Korea on 3 June 2026.[1][2][3] Of the elections for the 16 metropolitan mayors and governors, exit polls project the Democratic Party to win 11 and the People Power Party to win one; four races were too close to call.[4]

Citizens born before 4 June 2008 have the right to vote and the right to be elected. 2026 South Korean by-elections will be also held during the local elections.
