A general election was held in Tokelau on 5 February 2026;[1] the election was originally scheduled to take place on 29 January 2026, but had to be postponed after severe weather conditions delayed the ferry delivering the ballot boxes.[2] Citizens voted to elect all 20 members of the General Fono. Voting took place in Nukunonu, Atafu, and Fakaofo, as well as Apia, Samoa.
Eligible voters on each atoll elected a Faipule, Pulenuku (mayor), Hui Taupulega 1 (first council representative), Hui Taupulega 2, (second council representative), Hui Taulelea (men's representative) and Hui Fatupaepae (women's representative).[3]
