The 2026–27 season is the 160th season in the history of Chesterfield Football Club and their third consecutive season in League Two. The club are participating in League Two, the FA Cup, the EFL Cup and the EFL Trophy.

Pre-season and friendlies

On 20 May, the Spireites announced their a pre-season friendly, against FC Halifax Town.[24] Two days later, a trip to locals Clay Cross Town was added.[25] On 1 June, a third opponent for pre-season was confirmed against Sheffield United.[26] On 5 July, a pre-season trip to Scunthorpe United was announced.[27] Four days later, a pre-season training camp in Republic of Ireland was announced along with a friendly against Bohemian in Dublin.[28][29] On 16 July, a behind closed doors meeting with Boston United was confirmed.[30]
