The 8th Kalasha International Film & TV Awards ceremony, presented by the Kenya Film Commission, honoured the best in Kenyan television and film for the year 2018. It took place on 24 November 2018 at the Safari Park Hotel in Nairobi, Kenya.[1] The awards recognize excellence in storytelling, direction, performance and technical execution in the Kenyan entertainment industry.[2]
Ravneet Sippy Chadha's drama film Subira was the biggest winner of the night, taking home five major awards, including Best Feature Film, Best Director and Best Lead Actress for Brenda Wairimu.[3] The critically acclaimed film Supa Modo also performed strongly, winning Best Original Screenplay, Best Production Designer, Best Lead Actor and Best Supporting Actress. In the television categories, the drama series Selina secured Best TV Drama, while The Real Househelps of Kawangware won Best TV Comedy.[4]
