The Kalasha Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Film is an annual award presented by the Kenya Film Commission as part of the Kalasha International Film & TV Awards. It recognizes an actress who has delivered an outstanding performance in a supporting role in a Kenyan film.[1]

It was first awarded at the inaugural ceremony in 2009.

The recent recipient is Brenda Mwai for her performance in The Caller at the 13th edition held in 2024.[2][3]

The award is presented to an actress in a supporting role whose performance demonstrates exceptional artistic merit and contribution to the narrative of a film. Eligible performances must appear in films submitted to the Kenya Film Commission during the awards cycle and meet the official entry requirements.

Nominees and winners are selected by the Kalasha Academy, a panel of industry professionals including directors, producers, actors, and technical experts. In general categories, the outcome is determined through a hybrid voting system, where the academy contributes 70% of the vote and the public accounts for 30%.[4][5]
