A. K. Kaliappa Gounder was an Indian politician and a former Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA) of Tamil Nadu. Hailing from the Shanarpalayam area in the Erode district, he was a member of the Indian National Congress party.
In the 1962 Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly elections, he contested from the Nambiyur Assembly constituency and emerged victorious.[1] Additionally, he served as the Chairman of the Sathyamangalam Panchayat Union, having been elected unopposed to the position twice.[citation needed]
