The work depicts a group of Danish painters, architects, and other artists in a Roman hotel room; those painters depicted are Hansen himself, Michael Gottlieb Bindesbøll, Martinus Rørbye, Wilhelm Marstrand, Albert Küchler, Ditlev Blunck, and Jørgen Sonne.[1]
