Abdul Alim was a Bangladesh Nationalist Party politician and the former member of parliament for Joypurhat-1 and Minister. He was convicted and sentenced to life imprisonment.[1]
Alim was born 1 November 1930 in Joypurhat District, East Bengal, British India. His father, Abdul Wahed Sarkar was the owner of Islamia Rice in Hoogly Pandua. His family used to live in Thaipara, Pandua, Hooghly District but moved to Joypurhat District soon after the partition of India in 1950.[2]
