Achterneed (Scottish Gaelic: Uachdar Niad), also spelled Auchterneed, is a village in Highland, Scotland, lies within the environs of Castle Leod, seat of the Earl of Cromartie, 1-mile (1.6 km) north of Strathpeffer.[1]
