History
Gilbert and Rosenthal worked together at Madrona Venture Group[3] an American venture capital firm and initially had an idea for making a podcast about company acquisitions that became pivotal to the success of the acquiring company.[4] The first episode discussed Pixar and was published in 2015.[5] Over time, the show expanded beyond the acquisition topic to cover business history more generally.[4]
In July 2025, Acquired hosted a live event in Radio City Music Hall that featured J.P. Morgan CEO Jamie Dimon and other guests.[6]
