Adriana Ferreyr

Ferreyr was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, the daughter of Rogério Ferreiro, a civil engineer.^[1]

At the age of eight she joined the theater company of Fernando Peltier and acted in several plays and musicals, including The Sound of Music (A Noviça Rebelde). While taking classes at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro,^[2] Ferreyr continued to act. In 2002, she joined the prime time Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão soap opera Marisol, playing Vanessa Lima do Vale, Marisol's adopted daughter.^[3]

In 2011, Ferreyr owned a retail business selling sunglasses and Christmas ornaments through kiosks in malls on the West Coast of the United States.^[4]

Ferreyr dated George Soros from 2006 to 2011.^[4][5][6] In 2011, while attending Columbia University in New York, she filed a $50 million lawsuit against Soros for reneging on a promise to buy her an apartment in New York City and for assault.^[7][8] In 2013, Soros sued Ferreyr for defamation and assault.^[9][10] In 2014, the appellate court dismissed Ferreyr's claims of fraud, infliction of emotional distress and other claims against Soros but did not dismiss Ferreyr's claim of assault and battery.^[11] The remaining suit was dismissed in February 2015.^[12]
