Adéla Jergová (born 27 November 2003) is a Slovak singer-songwriter and dancer. She spent her teenage years training in ballet dance, before expanding to music and competing in the 2023 talent competition television show Dream Academy. After signing to Capitol Records, she released her debut extended play (EP), The Provocateur (2025).

Adéla's first studio album, Prima (2026), debuted at number four on the Billboard 200. The singles "Ain't in LA" and "Nicole Kidman" marked her first entries on the US Billboard Hot 100 and made her the first Slovak artist in history to appear on the chart.[1][2]
Early life
Adéla Jergová[3] was born on 27 November 2003 in Bratislava, Slovakia.[4] She began taking ballet lessons in Moscow, Russia, starting when she was three years old. She has stated that watching the American teen sitcom Hannah Montana as a young child inspired her to become a singer.[5] She taught herself English, starting at eight years old, by watching American television series and interviews with American singers; she was fluent by age nine.[6] Adéla has described being online as a child as having "Americanized" her and introducing her to more liberal ideas, which made her feel alienated from Slovak society.[5] As a child, she became interested in vocals and production. She moved to Vienna, Austria, to join the Vienna State Ballet as a teenager and then to London, England, to join the English National Ballet School the following year.[7][8]
Career
2022–2023: Career beginnings and Dream Academy
In 2022, Adéla moved to Los Angeles, United States, to pursue a music career.[8] She studied music at Santa Monica College.[4] In 2023, she participated in the Hybe Corporation and Geffen Records' reality competition series Dream Academy alongside 19 other contestants.[8] During the first challenge, she performed a group dance to Blackpink’s "Pink Venom" and was one of the first to be eliminated after receiving the fewest fan votes.[9][10] She later described the competition as "the worst year of my life".[6] The winners of the series went on to form the girl group Katseye. Adéla also appeared in Pop Star Academy: Katseye, Netflix's 2024 behind-the-scenes docuseries covering the events of Dream Academy.[3]
2024–present: The Provocateur and Prima
In September 2024, she made her debut with the release of "Homewrecked", which Out named one of the best singles for the week of its release.[11][12] Adéla's second single "Superscar" was released in October 2024.[7] In 2024, she attended college in Los Angeles for music.[3] Adéla's third single, "Machine Girl", was released in February 2025 and co-produced by Canadian musician Grimes, who reached out to Adéla after hearing "Homewrecked" on TikTok.[13] Its music video co-starred actress Sofia Wylie and featured a cameo from Grimes.[14] In May 2025, Adéla announced that she had signed with Capitol Records.[15] Her next single, "Death by Devotion", was produced by Dylan Brady and Zhone and released in July 2025.[15]
The Provocateur, her debut extended play (EP), was released on 22 August 2025.[16] Alongside the EP, she released the single "Sex on the Beat" with a music video featuring a cameo from Christina Aguilera. The music video was followed in September 2025 by a choreography-only video.[17] She performed on her first tour, The ProvocaTour, in October 2025.[5]
During April and May 2026, she performed as the opening act for Demi Lovato's It's Not That Deep Tour.[18] She released her single "KGB" the same month.[19] The day after her final performance for the It's Not That Deep Tour, Adéla announced a new headlining tour of her own, the Red Bottoms tour, which began in late August 2026.[20] Following the release of the single "Ain't in LA" in July 2026, she announced the release of her debut album, Prima, which was released on September 4, 2026.[21] In August 2026, Adéla performed at Lollapalooza. Her set gained praise from several outlets.[22][23]

Adéla's music is classified as pop.[24] She has described her lyrics, which often tackle her sexual expression, as "exaggerated" and "over-the-top" versions of the events of her life.[13] She has cited Beyoncé and Lady Gaga as her biggest musical influences, calling herself "the biggest BeyHive you've ever fucking met", and listed Mariah Carey, Patti LaBelle, Whitney Houston, Céline Dion, and Aretha Franklin as early inspirations for her vocals and Imogen Heap, Ariana Grande, and Beyoncé as influential for her use of harmonies.[25][7] She has cited "Rock with U" by Janet Jackson, "Bad Romance" by Lady Gaga, and Lemonade by Beyoncé as influences on her music videos.[4]
