Aksaysky District

Aksaysky District, or Aksay Region (Russian: Акса́йский райо́н) is an administrative[1] and municipal[4] district (raion), one of the 43 in Rostov Oblast, Russia. It is located in the western central part of the oblast. The area of the district is 1,162 square kilometers (449 sq mi).[2] Its administrative center is the town of Aksay.[1] Population: 102,369 (2010 Census);[3] 88,899 (2002 census);[6] 73,361 (1989 Soviet census).[7] The population of Aksay accounts for 41.0% of the district's total population.[3]
