Al-Qalam University, Katsina (AUK), formerly known as Katsina University, Katsina (KUK) is located in Dutsinma Road, Katsina State, Nigeria. Established in 2005, it was the second government-licensed private Islamic university in Nigeria.[1]
The University currently runs six schools/colleges: The College of Social and Management Sciences, College of Natural and Applied Sciences, College of Education, College of Humanities, College of Post Graduate Studies, and School of Basic and Remedial Studies. It awards 22 undergraduate degrees (among which five courses offer both full-time and part-time programs), 11 master's programs, and nine PhD programmes, all accredited by the National Universities Commission (NUC). The programs of study in the university are as follows:[2]
Library

Bilya Sanda (Khadimul Islam) library was established in 2005 to serves the university students, academic staff and the university community and also provide information resources in support of its teaching and research mandate.[3]
Governance
Al-Qalam University, Katsina operates under a governance structure that includes a Chancellor, Board of Trustees, Governing Council and principal officers responsible for academic and administrative leadership.[4]

Vice-Chancellor
- Professor Nasiru Musa Yauri – Vice-Chancellor (appointed October 2021). He succeeded Professor Shehu Garki-Ado and serves as the chief academic and administrative officer of the university.[8]
Deputy Vice-Chancellor
- Professor Amina Muhammad Sani – Deputy Vice-Chancellor (appointed April 2022), becoming the first female DVC of the university.[9]

Affiliations and partnerships
Al-Qalam University, Katsina has established collaborations with several academic institutions and organizations to support research, academic exchange, and professional training.
In 2015, the university signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the International Open University (formerly Islamic Online University) to promote cooperation in teaching, joint research, curriculum development, and academic exchange programmes.[10]
The university has also partnered with healthcare institutions across Katsina State to provide clinical training opportunities for students, particularly in programmes under its College of Allied Health Sciences.[11]
In addition, the institution collaborates with international universities and organisations to enhance academic development, research activities, and faculty training.[12]
