Career
Menne formed Great Grandpa alongside Pat Goodwin, Carrie Goodwin, Cam LaFlam, and Dylan Hanwright in 2014.[2] With Great Grandpa, Menne has released two full-length albums.[3][4] In 2021, Menne began a musical relationship with singer-songwriter Christian Lee Hutson, joining Hutson on a solo headlining tour and tour opening for Bright Eyes.[5] In July 2023, Menne announced his[6][7] debut full-length album. The album, Freak Accident, was produced by Hutson, mixed by Melina Duterte (Jay Som), and features backing guitar from Meg Duffy (Hand Habits).[8] Alongside the album announcement, Menne released the song "Kill Me", featuring a music video directed by musician Chris Farren.[9] A second single from the album, titled "Grandma's Garden", featuring Hand Habits, was released in August.[10] The album was released on September 22, 2023.[11]
Personal life
Menne is a transgender man. He began socially transitioning during the COVID-19 pandemic and associated lockdown.[12]
