Alistipes finegoldii is a bacterium from the genus of Alistipes which has been isolated from appendix tissue from a human from Helsinki in Finland.[1][3][4][5][6] The species is named in honor of Sydney M. Finegold.[7] A. finegoldii is a gram negative straight rod shaped bacterium commonly found in the human gut biome that grows anaerobically.[8] The general size ranges from 0.8 to 2 micrometers in length with rounded ends.
