It first reached the Billboard magazine charts on June 16, 1956. On the Disk Jockey chart, it peaked at number 2; on the Best Seller chart, at number 5; on the Juke Box chart, at number 2; on the composite chart of the top 100 songs, it reached number 2.[2] The song was also a hit in Australia peaking at number 3.
