Amanoa caribaea[1] is a species of tree native to Dominica and Guadeloupe, known locally as the Karapit[2][3][4] (or Carapite).[5][6] It was described by Karl Wilhelm Leopold Krug and Ignatz Urban in 1897.[7] It is in the genus Amanoa and the family Phyllanthaceae.[7][8]
