Amherst is a census-designated place (CDP) and the main village in the town of Amherst, New Hampshire, United States. The population of the CDP was 697 at the 2020 census,[2] out of 11,753 in the entire town. The village center is listed on the National Register of Historic Places as the Amherst Village Historic District.
