Aminuis Constituency

Aminuis Constituency is an electoral constituency in the Omaheke Region of Namibia. It had 7,847 registered voters in 2020^[update].^[1] The district capital is the settlement of Aminuis. The constituency forms part of the border between Namibia and Botswana.

Aminuis Constituency covers an area of 12,994 km² (5,017 sq mi). It had a population of 12,306 in 2011, down from 12,392 in 2001.^[2] Villages and settlements in the Aminuis constituency include:

The constituency also is the home of the traditional seat of the Ovaherero Paramount Chief, at the village of Toasis, situated south of Aminuis.^[7] In the Herero and Nama War of 1904–1908 the village was the location of the Battle of Toasis on 17 December 1905. Later Chief Hosea Kutako had his homestead there, in December 2024 a community heroes' acre for Ovaherero and Ovambanderu was inaugurated.^[8]
