Development

The concept of Andhar originated from musicians Saidus Salehin "Bassbaba" Sumon of Aurthohin and Shakib Chowdhury of Cryptic Fate,[8] who, along with Adnan Adib Khan, previously explored horror themes in the radio programme Bhoutist. The trio collaborated on the story, with Sumon contributing around 20 percent, while Shakib and Adnan developed the rest. The screenplay and dialogue were co-written by Shakib and Adnan.[5] Raihan Rafi was brought on board as director, marking his first entry into the horror genre.[9]

Filming

Pre-production was completed in August 2025,[10] and filming is scheduled to begin in September 2025.[citation needed]

Music

The film's background score and soundtrack are being composed by Arafat Mohsin, who confirmed his involvement via social media.[11] He said, The 'Andhar' project is very interesting. It is a horror genre film, which is a new challenge for me. I want to give the audience a sense of tension and fear of the story through the music of a horror movie. He also said, "Since I have to make music for the horror genre, working in the studio at night can be a little scary! I will score the music for 'Andhar' by drawing on the sound design of horror films from around the world and our local myths and stories. This is a new challenge for me."[12]
