The Andhra Pradesh football team(APFA) is an Indian football team representing Andhra Pradesh in Indian state football competitions including the Santosh Trophy. Andhra Pradesh Football Association (APFA) was officially recognized/re-established under AIFF supervision on October 6, 2013, following elections held in Hyderabad after years of factional disputes. The APFA currently acts as the state governing body affiliated with the All India Football Federation (AIFF). APFA has been active since 2023, hosting National Tournaments and sending teams for the Santosh Trophy and junior nationals.
The team has appeared in the Santosh Trophy finals twice, winning the trophy once. Prior to 1959, the team competed as Andhra football team. The Hyderabad Football Association merged with the Andhra Football Association to establish the combined team.[1][2]
They have failed to qualify for the final rounds of 69th Santosh Trophy (2015).[3]
