André Burguière (French: [ɑ̃dʁe byʁɡjɛʁ]; 10 October 1938 – 22 January 2026) was a French historian and academic.[1]

Burguière was a longtime director of studies at the School for Advanced Studies in the Social Sciences and was politically active with the Unified Socialist Party.[2] In 2007, he published a piece in Le Nouvel Observateur in support of Ségolène Royal in the presidential election.[3] He did the same for François Hollande in 2012.[4]

Burguière died in Paris on 22 January 2026, at the age of 87.[5]
