Career

Work with Hillsong Church (2004–2024)

King attended Hillsong Church with his family while growing up, and in 2004, he became involved himself in their ministry himself.[3] In 2012, after several involvement with the association's ministry, King became one of the founding members of Hillsong Young & Free — a spinoff of Hillsong United targeted towards younger audiences.[4] King experienced notable success with the collective; their debut album, We Are Young & Free (2013) topped the Billboard Top Christian Albums chart and peaked at number 22 on the Billboard 200.[5] Following Hillsong Church's COVID-19 rule breaches and public scandals in 2021, King became less active with the collective because he believed it "started to look different", and in 2025 announced that he had officially left.[2]

Beyond Us and Throwing Paint (2024–2026)

In August 2024, it was announced that King had signed with Anotherland Records and Capitol CMG. His first release to the label, "Thank You So Much Jesus", was released on 9 August 2024.[6] Subsequently, he released "Without You" and "Pray You Never Leave" on 6 September 2024,[7] and on 27 September 2024, he released "Yesterday, Today and Tommorrow".[8] The four releases preceded King's debut solo attempt, Beyond Us, which was first announced in October 2024 and released later that month.[9][10]

Throwing Paint, a collaborative album with Abby Gamboa, was surprise released on 19 August 2025.[11][12] In November 2025, the album track "Deep" was released to Christian radio in the United States as the album's first and only single.[13] On 17 March 2026, King released a collaboration with Hastings, titled "Hollow Grave".[14] The following month, it was announced the King and Hastings were in the process of recording a forthcoming collaborative album together.[15][16] The album, Happy to Be Here, was released on 29 May 2026.[1][17]

Early life

King was born in Sydney on Christmas Day, 1992[18] to Indian and Irish parents.[19] In 2004, King joined Hillsong's youth ministry. In the preceding years, he taught himself guitar and become a member of Hillsong's staff.[19]
