2024: WTA debut and semifinal

In September 2024, Ito won her third singles and eighth doubles titles on the ITF Circuit at the W50 event in Nanao, Japan.^{[citation needed]}

On her WTA Tour debut at the Japan Women's Open,^[3] where she qualified for the main draw, Ito reached the semifinals defeating Sofia Kenin^[4] and eighth seed Elisabetta Cocciaretto, for her first top 50 career win,^[5] and lucky loser Eva Lys,^[6] before losing in the last four to Kimberly Birrell.^[7]

2025: Major & WTA 1000 debuts, first top 10 win & WTA 125 title

Ito won her first WTA 125 title at the Canberra Tennis International, defeating defending champion and top seed Nuria Párrizas Díaz in the semifinals^[8] and Wei Sijia in the final.^[9] As a result, she reached a new career-high ranking of 109, on 6 January 2025.^[10]

She qualified for her first WTA 1000 tournament at the Qatar Ladies Open losing to Jeļena Ostapenko in the first round.^[11] The following week, Ito qualified for the Dubai Open, but again fell in the first round, this time to Belinda Bencic.^[12]

In March 2025, she qualified for the Miami Open, but lost in the first round to Lauren Davis in three sets.^[13] She made her major debut at Wimbledon,^[14] losing to Kamilla Rakhimova in the first round.^[15]

Ito qualified for the Canadian Open and got her first WTA 1000 win by defeating Katie Volynets.^[16] She followed this up by fighting back from a set and a break of serve down against seventh seed Jasmine Paolini in the second round to register her maiden win against a top-10 ranked opponent.^[17] Ito lost in the third round to Jéssica Bouzas Maneiro in three sets.^[18]

Ranked at a new career-high of world No. 94,^[19] she qualified for the Cincinnati Open and defeated Elena-Gabriela Ruse^[20] and 27th seed Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova to reach the third round,^[21] at which point her run was ended by sixth seed Madison Keys.^[22] Despite her loss, Ito moved a further 12 places up the rankings to world No. 82 on 18 August 2025.^[23]
