Archaeological site of Tava Tepe

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tava Tepe is an archaeological site located in the Aghstafa District of western Azerbaijan. It covers an area of approximately 3.3 hectares and is situated a few kilometers west of the Kura River valley, near the modern village of Aşağı Kəsəmən. Tava Tepe, dating to the Late Bronze–Early Iron Age, was a settlement site of tribes associated with the Khojaly-Gadabay culture.[1]

Recent discoveries at Tava Tepe have provided new insights into the dietary habits of its inhabitants and support the interpretation that the site was used for ritual gatherings involving communal meals among nomadic groups.[2]
